ECS FACTORY FAN, removal

removing the firma or spektrum fan shroud.. can i do this and add my own hipower fan,...minus the shroud..The search function here fails me and google brings me back,no answers or images..

sure and it’s super simple. It it the motor or esc fan? Doh, I’m an idiot. I didn’t read the thread title. You can swap fans no problem as long as the better new one is the same dimensions as the stock one

That's definitely doable.

Or, you could remove the OEM tiny fan ;put the original shroud back ;get an 3D printed shroud adaptor that accommodates a larger fan ,then install said Larger fan.

The fan shroud is actually useless. IMHO. Mount a good fan onto the ESC Heat Sink. No shroud. There are adapters to fit larger fans also.
