Cool. I assume brushless. Are you upgrading anything other than motor/ESC?
Yup! Sure am. Building up my ‘dream’ jumper lol. Been collecting parts several months now 😃
Cool you should do a build thread
Okay…Do I need to do anything other than post this under the build thread category?

Copy the link to this thread to your clipboard, it’s the link at the top of this screen, then click on your account, and then click account details, scroll to bottom and paste this thread link in the. Arrma Forum Thread Link spot and that will do it.
Hope that made sense, I explain things poorly

Actually that should do it. I often understand things poorly so in the end everything should work out as to poorlys make a good. 🙃

I think I did it. Had one issue, when I tried to copy the thread it would not paste the URL. So I just copied the thread to a notepad and then copied just the URL off of it. But I think I did it. Can’t really tell from my end?
Thanks Alan!!

This is fun. I should’ve torn this car apart months ago. It is only 88 today and 60% humidity. It’s like winter is coming back or something in Central Texas. So it’s a good day to work on this on this thing and see how far I can get.

Got my favorite beer handy from Freetail (No it’s not a cheap whore house or happy hour at the topless dance club), It’s just a great little brewery only 15 minutes away.

My tracking system for not getting my screws messed up is extremely basic tape and marker set up but works.

Ted T. Giraff is Looking over the workshop, making sure things are getting crazy as they should be. He looks happy today yup.

Yes you did it, I can see your build thread banner under your name

I got my differentials out and open them up. The differential fluid inside was clear and clean, all gears pretty and shiny so I simply topped it off and reassembled. Smooth as butter.

Out of curiosity… in case I filled them up a bit too much, is that highly detrimental?

I like it! I have a bad habit of just throwing all the screws in a magnet dish and hoping it doesn't take too many pulls to find the right fastener.

Thanks!! I did that so many years in the beginning working on my mountain bikes that I finally just stopped and got organized as my adhd could. I was causing myself so much damn stress 😂
I pretty much worked on my car from 7 AM until 5pm and had a blast! I took my time, made sure I didn’t get frustrated because I wanted to do things right. Many things I did twice or three times over… but I got this now. I know 3s in and out.

Got the body Shoo Goo and fiber taped. Cleaned a little beastie spotless as I could. Put together the power module (did motor save and soft Velcro mods, good mesh, new bearings and HR mount) as well as the electrics module. Worked on the steering whatchamacallit, tried to make it more solid and put Jim’s bearings in. I want the HR one but I’m over budget. Broke down and drilled a hole under the spur even. I’m going to put tape over it on the underside. That way when I remove the tape anything going on inside the gearbox will be sticking to it. I’ll know if there’s black dust brown dust purple dust purple dust etc.

I had a blast! Worked on the car in the living room because my wife sat out there with me and we watched Kevin Talbot videos and other videos much of the time. I’ve never been much into YouTube videos other than to figure something out but it was kinda fun.

Tomorrow I’ll start putting put the rest of the car together. Figure out how to mount the 6s shocks and so forth. Maybe turn everything on and see if it actually works

And she’s done! Tested her out front and she is very fast. I am so happy! What a learning experience! Only thing I did a bit wrong is the stearing servo saver. It’s a kinda off so my turning radius is a few inches shorter turning right (ambi-turner). So next time I pull it apart I will adjust. All else is fantastic… it hauls ass. and is a smooth as butter. Love the dumbo transmitter!!

I didn’t put the 6s shocks on yet. Or my hot racing Yokes, which arrived immediately after I finished putting it together. And I had to order some more little nuts to finish my body protectors. I was tearing apart the house looking for little nuts earlier and it was cracking my wife up.

I really want to drive it a bit first before I work on it more. Hopefully my wife will feel good enough to hit the park tomorrow. I can’t believe I didn’t know anything about modern RC cars six months ago. Thank you to everyone here. Especially thank you to Kushner… his gift of a blx ESC was the catalyst that got me going.

Looks awesome 👍
Thanks!! Worked on it another 4 hours this morning and am getting excited lol. The picture in my head is meshing with what the car is becoming perfectly 🤩

So I got these Mojave and Kraton shocks for my granite and they came with silver springs which were too stiff, so I got the Team Ass. ones. But the two shorter ones did not have shock post boots. The two longer ones do but the shorter ones don’t.

When I first joined the forum earlier this year somebody posted how they put these on using black balloons. I kinda remembered how so I did it…and it worked!

I worked on the body a lot also. Shoo Goo and fiber tape worked fantastically. Got my body protection on and a few stickers.

On the tailgate I still need to paint the Arrma red. Forum Arrma 🙃

All that’s left is to put the 6S shocks on and we have the Flying Blueberry 🤣

My honey was feeling good enough to go to the park for half an hour today so we tested out the Blueberry. Holy fiddlestick that thing is fast! Had to dial down the punch setting because it was a bit much.

I love these shocks! They were easy to put on also. I had some 5 mm aluminum spacers that I used at the base. Longer screws also. Now I need to work on getting the truck dialed in. And I need to build a ramp. And get a lot of mulch 🤣

I lowered the body a little bit today. One thing I’ve never liked is the way the Granite body sits so damn high over the chassie. Now that I have a vorteks it really bugs me because the vorteks, well it’s so cozy low and sweet.

I didn’t lower her all the way down to the stops… just enough to look good in my eyes lol.

Got her front end done all pretty-like. Used some Vinyl sheet stickers for cutting out. Basic and works.

I lowered the body and put in a modified TBone center brace today!
