has anyone tried 32/37 gearing in a outcast 8s exb with a max 5 and a 800kv hobby wing motor?

No answer since Monday..... I would give that a try above.
It is common place to have several Pinions on hand with this hobby. Looking for that one pinion size on another's recommendation may not always work for you.
I don't own an 8s model.
With any RC, proper gearing is trial and error with several pinions on hand. And always still remains subjective.
Watching your temps, with a Temp gun in hand, is how it is properly done.
Good luck.

I’m not entirely positive those small of gears will fit. If they do, I don’t think it’d be a bad option. Personally if I had an 800kv I would probably start at 34/39 (mostly because the 39t is included with the EXB) and then go from there. A lot of people run the big 800kv motors closer to 1:1.

That ESC and motor can handle 39/39 but if that's more aggressive than you'd like, then maybe start at ~34/39.
