So, hello everybody,

after getting answered a bunch of my noob questions here regarding my new hobby please let me start off with a quick introduction and what happened that I´m now around.

I´m Andy, 40yrs of age, married, one daughter of 4, house, job, friends, everythings fine..
It all began on dec, 5th when my nephew turned 5 and got a quite cool RC car, a Reely Stagger, and I was due to my technical affinity made responsible to get this thing up and running, which I did.
Well, it didnt survive this day, so I was called to action again to dive even more into this RC business, reading the drawnings to identify what parts are needed, ordering them, waiting for them, to finally wrench this thing back together to make this little boy happy again.

What can I say, repairing this thing was FUN! Okay, I also had to do quite a few "testrides" as well, just to make sure everthing worked out just fine ;))))))))))))))

During the christmas holidays I came to the conclusion that this RC thing would be a "corona compliant" hobby so I started stalking what kind of stuff is there available on the market...
First I got stuck to the Losi Super Rock Rey but when I I saw this Video of Kevin talbot on YT I instantly fell in love with the EXB....

And here I am ;)

So let get into my build and what I did so far.

Here the hard facts:

Initial purchase at www.bullet-rc.de, a local onlineshop just 10mins away, 1-man-show with a really cool guy who helped me get rid of the first questionmarks in my head. (Hello and thank you Robin ;) :

Kraton EXB roller
Hobbywing Max8 Bundle with 4274 EZRUN
Absima CR3P RX/TX
SRT 25kg Servo
Geeh Bashing Lipos 5000mh 6x3S
Louise MT Rocket Street tyres..

Robin assembled all that stuff so I could hit the lever right away, WHAT a BLAST!

After my first packs I set up a place to wrench in my garage and got the follwing stuff until now.
(Due to not starting my build theat right away I just tell you the parts which i added so far.

SKYRC Gyro
3d Printed Mudguards
Stainless steel skidpads for the body. (selfmade)
Aluminium skidplates for the Wing. (selfmade)
Wheelie bar (aliexpress)
LED lights
strengtend the body with shoegoo and mesh
Shoegooed the bumper shock absorber thing..

I also toasted the motor already as you might ahve seen in my other threat, waiting for an new one.

So thats it for now, I drop now all the pics i did so far below, not in chronological order, but from now on I update this thead regulaily.

Today I shoegooed this bumper thing which looks like glasses after seeing here in the forum that this thing likes to fail...
..had a crack already.
Looks quite good actually, thinking of dropping in some red nail polish from my

Hi guys, i just filled that bumper thing ( whats it called in english?) With shoegoo to prevent failure. But now it seems too rigid that it wont absorb the gforce that much like intended and other parts would fail in a crash...
What do you think?

Well thanks for the hint but now its too late anyway. the shoegoo is stiff as f**k.
Think I will simply drill a hole into it to give it back some flexibility...
What is this gasketmaker? never heard before...

Hi guys,

The Motor was in the post today.
The old one was pretty fiddlesticked up. Made a video comparing both, just don't how to share it here.

Just mounted it, but my 12teeth pinion seems not fit the spur properly, are there different shapes of teeth around?

Adjusted pinion and spur with a piece thicker paper but it still made grinding noises. So i adjusted it while spinning till it sound good. Now the teeth are only touching about 50%. Is that ok?

Finally, my shoegooed bumperthing got dried so far when i found out i poored it the wrong way upside down, so i gonna start over again as this stuff it too stiff anyway. 🙄

Got late today so i didnt bother cleaning up the workbench. Im done....

I am actually not sure because the motor was assembled by the guy i bought it from. I looks to me as if that pinion is not matching the spur properly. how can i find out?
Next question, does only one pinion came originally with the EXB?
Maybe someboby can provide a picture of the original pinion which ships with the EXB. Many thanks
And, are there two included?

The pinion that came with my EXB is on the right in this photo. Only 1 pinion was included and it was that 12T mod 1 gear.

You can measure your gear pitch using a caliper to find the outside diameter of your gear and then counting the number of teeth. With those two pieces of info you can use this site to find the pitch.

12T seems to be pretty conservative on that motor/esc combo I would think so you should have some room to move up without heating things up too much. Others I'm sure have some more experience with that combo though and may know the sweet spot for pinion size on it.

I just found This thread regarding this topic. Seems i got the wrong motor for my rig...🥲
Today i just sorted out my receiver box. This cabling was really messy because of the gyro in it but now i like it.
Had the idea bundling the excess cables with heatshrink, worked out quite well..
