Arrma RC's
I've had my outcast for about 5 years that I finally found after moving to my new place and basically want to know which version and gen i have. Didnt realize they made different versions and gens of my truck. Sticker says " AR10602120170406620". I want to bring it back to life as the batteries have gone bad over time. Also what should I upgrade on it? Should I do some maintenance on it?

Post some pics, it’ll help identify it :)

Is it outdated and basically not worth updating it or is it worth the hassle?
Not really outdated no. All of the pre V5 parts will bolt right on. I would upgrade the shocks to the current version and upgrade the chassis braces to aluminum.

Not so much obsolete, but I have a feeling running that one being 5 years aged it will break continuously and nickel and dime you to death not to mention the down time.. this is just me 🤷🏻‍♂️ Others may chime in.
Is the servo that's in it still relevant now that we are in 2021? It's a savox 1230sg

The only differences between the V1 Outcast and the current version of the Outcast are as follows.
Larger receiver box.
Shocks with 4mm shafts and different shock mounts.
Sliding motor mount.
A couple shims in the diffs.
Slightly better stock chassis braces.
Bulkheads are little stronger.
Oh and the tower to tower brace.

I would just do some general maintenance on it like change the fluids in the diffs and shocks and change the bearings with the things I suggested above.

Which aluminum chassis braces should I get? Any websites you recommend I should order off? I've been out the loop for quite some time

Alright where should I get those things?

Is it worth upgrading all that? Or should I just run it until it completely dies?
I would look at M2C Racing https://m2cracing.net/45-arrma-outcast-6s-model-34-

No need to really other than the shocks, the V1 shocks are awful the springs are too short and too soft and the shafts bend really easily.
Front shocks https://jennysrc.com/collections/ar...st-assembled-dampers-springs-red-new-ar106040
Rear shocks https://jennysrc.com/collections/ar...ar-shocks-assembled-dampers-springs-ara8608v5
Shock standoffs https://www.amazon.com/Arrma-Shock-Standoff-6S-4/dp/B0764L5QD7

Everything else I would upgrade or replace as they wear out or break.

And I forgot they changed the servo saver and added those stupid never pop balls. I would not recommend either of these "upgrades" I personally think they were both a step backwards from the original designs.

M2C racing and Jenny's RC is where to go usually. And eBay
If Jenny's doesn't have what I am looking for I usually check to see if Lumidave has it.

Also need new batteries/battery any recommendations? My truck uses the xt90 connectors? Should I get another set of 3s or just a single 6s battery?

I've had good luck with Zeee batteries on Amazon

Oh and as far as two 3s or one 6s, it's preference to me. I have two 3s currently since I have a couple RCs that run only on 3s.
But I might get a 6S for a speed run build to have less weight compared to two 3S batteries
There's also this 37 page about Batteries. Happy reading! 😂
