There's load of info on the 4x4 BLX shocks here, including some upgrade suggestions:

There's a few brushless upgrade threads here too. I would recommend the Max10 SCT 120A 3200kv brushless combo. You may have to update the drivetrain to be brushless capable if you have the V2 or older version of the Granite - read the thread linked below if you need the parts to do so

*However* conversion costs may be nearly as expensive as buying a whole new brushless version, especially if you've got the older MEGA drivetrain, so you may be better off just buying a whole new brushless Granite

I guess you want to upgrade the shocks because they leak? I’d recommend fixing them instead. They are quite decent once you fix the leaking issue.

You could try the upgrading to the o ring kit from the V3, which they claimed has fixed the leak issue. Before the V3 came out, I fixed the leaking by replacing one of the o ring in the cartridge by a slightly thicker 2.6 x 7.0 x 2.2 mm nitrile o ring I bought on Amazon. I did not loose a single drop of oil since.

If you are not trying jumping over a house like some people the factory shocks are good for most if you can stop the leak. I did with larger o-rings and there are tons of threads on that. I have the Granite BLX v2 and if I were starting today I would get the Granite v3 shocks where they have addressed the oring leak for only $29 at Jenny's:

This was not an option at the time. I fixed mine and they worked fine. Other options but hard to find are the Typhon 6s shocks off the v4 model here...but expensive now also out of stock:

Then some had success with the HR Shocks and Big Bore off eBay but that is a hit or miss with some.

Hi All

I am working on the Granite Mega V3 to BLX upgrade at the mo (HW Max10 sct). Unfortunately I am stuck with the stock 91t spur as the 57t 0.8 mod is totally out of stock. Managed to get an 18t 48dp pinion with a 5mm bore just to keep us going until the 57t slipper clutch stock replenishes.

Could you recommend Diff oil and Shock Oil. Best to give everything a top up. At some point I will probably upgrade the shocks. My boy does hammer over the jumps at the local offroad MTB track so worth putting a heavier oil in the shocks for now?

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I put 50wt shock oil in my son's Granite. The stock (35wt?) leaked rapidly, so I can't really comment on how they compare.

I find 50wt works really well.

Stock diff oil on the 3S is 10k.
