Florida Hey anyone around Tampa Florida area?

I tried lake park I didn’t like it. It’s mostly for smaller cars like 1/10 scale and tuned down as well. The kraton is too fast and big for that track

Agreed, I tried it before even finding this forum and 1/8 are too big for that track. People seem nice but they like their 1/10 stuff.

Guys Lake Park is a legendary track. It goes back to the early 90’s. Many National and International racers were held at that place. It had its ups and downs ver the year for sure. I’ve seeing some crazy 1/8 nitro buggy races at that place between Ryan Mayfield, Jared Tebo. Jason Ruona(JConpect founder and owner)literally grew at this track.

The guy at hobbytown in Brandon told me about one in bartow called triple nickel raceway. I mainly look for construction sites so I haven't been.

Lake park track is in Lutz. SS raceway is on broadway near 41 and I4.

It's for 1/10 scale vehicles from what I have heard!!
Come out and join us it will be a lot better.

I found a park that has 2 dry retention ponds that are separated by a burn so you can jump from one to the other. 1 is about 5 feet deep and the other is about 10 feet.

We had a good turnout at our location today. typically 5-6 people by now with peaks to 10.

@Robert C how is this area holding up? Grass growing or water accumulating? I'll probably try this out in ~ 2 weeks.


Any experience or insight on this large area? Looks like there is access through Hillsborough Heights Community

That is 10min from my house I can try to go look at it tomorrow. I was at the library location last weekend grass was short and the retention ponds usually don't hold water.
Just looked at hillborough hights community again on the map that is the dump. Buton the other side is the flying club it might have a good feild have never looked at it.

Sounds good, probably week after next we'll go out to your spot. I'll keep you posted. For many it's a 45min drive.

Just noticed that my pick above is a dump site, I doubt we can play as we would like to. I thought we would have both onroad and off-road but I bet it's not open to the public for our means. Bummer...

I'm planning on checking out @Robert C place above (Seffner-Mango Branch Library). My plan is ~ 11AM but if other join I can adjust. Anywhere starting 9AM through 3PM is fine. This seems off-road only.

Sunday 12PM: @Uplift-RC has arranged for a place in New Port Richey via his event page on Facebook. Checkout the videos of this place, heavily under construction but has both road and dirt. Don't think the actual track exists but Team Armored on facebook has a recent video. They are building a park for RC only, pay for use in the future, free for now.

My plan is to not break anything on Saturday or only stuff I can replace with spares

I can make it Saturday. Sunday is up in the air for me. I hurt my thumb at work and can’t use my left hand. I’ll come do videos and hang out. If I’m not back to work I can do Sunday
