Hey guys. I’m upgrading a little bit to a Hobbywing Xr8 pro. My question is what is the extra capacitor pack do and do most people use them or not?

It is a Hobbywing Xr8 pro and it comes in the box but doesn’t say much about it in the directions

I noticed Arrma was putting the cap packs on the new V2 Kraton/Outcast too.

I’m getting ready to solder things up and deciding if I should or shouldn’t use them. I’m thinking I should because it came with them.

Id leave them on.
From my understanding they compensate for voltage loss.
Another thing to consider is if it goes out on you,you'll probably kill the warranty.
@KnowAir you gonna cutoff the cap packs on the esc I sold ya?

Capacitors filter out oscillations in the voltage supply.
This helps improve the longevity of the ESC.

Some lipos do have very long leads. If a ESC gets damaged because of that it's subjectively on Hobbywing. So it makes sense for them to add extra capacitors as the stock cables on the ESC are pretty long already.
