There is for sure a need. Some of it is common sense like look for things that look wrong. Trust your instincts. Ask for help. Post pics.

Look for loose or missing screws.
Check wheel nuts.
Inspect wiring and connectors.
Make sure tires are glued well.
Calibrate the ESC.
Set your steering end points.
