Wanted to rebuild the slipper in my Kraton 4s v1, either it would come loose or it was too tight and destroying diffs. Bought new pads and the maintenance kit took it all apart and to my surprise there was no spring on the nut.

Cleaned and rebuilt it all as per instructions, spring included, but found with the spring in place and slipper adjusted to 1.25 turns out the red slipper shaft that connects to the front side only goes about half way in.

Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, anyone have any ideas?

Here are some images to clarify, I couldn't get Imgur to log in today for whatever reason:

Is the old spring still stuck inside the hub? The thrust bearing should sit much farther back in the hub than where it is at now.

I checked this twice and no, I'm pretty sure it's empty. I'm wondering if the person that owned it before me has swapped out the hub for a different one or something.

Something is under the spring that should not be their. I would take it apart again and jam a small screw driver in and see if something comes loose. Or just buy new slipper clutch plates and know it's clean inside.

My gosh you were right, and I am a moron!!! I went and checked a third time, still couldn't see it but after forcing a small screwdriver in through the other side at an angle I felt the rib of the spring. A bit of brute force and it came out... It was wedged deep in there still fully compressed!

Thank you!!!
