She's not winning any beauty contests, but I was able to build a removable battery tray to hold 2 SMC V2 9700mAh 4s batteries. If I want to go back to the stock battery tray, I remove 4 screws and pop the stock tray back in.

Thank you, and I never even thought about making one to hold the 8s batteries. I bought a couple diff plastic/metal trays I’m sure I can mold something to work haha. I may just have to buy some Velcro straps from the hardware store and make my own. All of the straps I’ve ordered online only have a small stretch of Velcro on the strap. And the issue I’ve been running into is that it won’t hold the batteries in because the straps are too long or the Velcro is in the wrong place haha. It has been a battle ???

Update on the build

most of my upgrades are installed

holding off on the m2c shock cap and piston kit until I break the stock caps.

waiting on my hot racing front and rear aluminum hubs then I should be done for now.

Could you provide any details on how you mounted the Mamba? I have the same ESC and I am wondering if I need to trim the ridge on the stock ESC mounting plate?

yes you will need to trim that ridge off the plate for the esc to fit.
