Notorious outdrive play and removal

video here I had my sun gear split in half, and noticed that the outdrive moved in and out is it supposed to do that? And how do I remove it? I can’t seem to get it.

if your talking about the pin that also connects to the sun gear. yes it is broken

Okaaay..I would take the grub screw out of the diff (side of diff housing) and pull pin out and replace

oke, would that stop that movement? i’ve never payed attention to it when it was out

If the pin holding the drive cup is broken I would assume you would have play. Mine never does that nor Have I ever broken a drive cup pin. You already have it torn apart check and see?

yes with my pin out it has play in, but can’t seem to get it out

You’ll have play because the pin is out, With the pin inserted it will stay.
