Used yellow oven cleaner on these spare 6s shock towers to remove the anodizing. Sprayed them & let them soak about an hour. Cleaned & repeated it 5 times. Brushed them. Even sanded them with 440 sandpaper. Almost gone. Any suggestions to get rid of it all? Showing both sides.

We did that to our bmx parts 50 years ago. They look good after you polish them up. When we were done we would give them a clear coat of lacquer to keep them shiny.

Lye works. Took it right off. Wear a mask. Stuff gives off some serious fumes. Of course gloves. I used a SS old fork to move them around & flip. 1/4 cup lye crystals & 4 cups warm water in a Pyrex dish. Found the lye at Walmart. Thanks @slick2500 Gonna give them a scotch brite treatment later.
