Does anybody have experience using the 1650 rocket with spektrum 150 esc just curious and yes I realize a 6.5 to 4 will be needed but the amp draw specs look close hence personal experience is requested

Rocket motors are fine. Nothing spectacular but good enough for a basher IMO.

The Firma 150 ESC can’t handle much more than the stock motor.

Which motor are you considering? Got a link?

The motor's amp draw specs can be misleading. And like stated above, the stocker 150 ESC might not be a match. Sure it can be done and tried for yourself. Your results will be based on pinion gearing, the key factor. The motor will ask for the power the radio input wants. If the ESC can't supply the amps, struggles, its a bust.
More importantly, you never stated what rig or platform this setup will be for.
A 1650kv 4 pole motor run on 6s packs in general is the sweetspot for most 1/7-1/8 platforms. ESC permitting.
If using a stocker Firma150, turn down Motor Timing completely, drop the Punch as well, then evaluate each Punch setting one notch up at a time. But again, Gearing is key here.
