Hey peeps what tools do you guys use to remove your diff bearings? I see guys on YouTube using some kind of curved pry bar/ screwdriver type tool, I have to rebuild both front and rear differentials on my granite and need all kinds of guidance. Never done anything like this before

You got a freezer..

It all depends how tight they are.

Place the diff in the freezer for 30 minutes. Should help loosen them up. This is how we do it in aviation, but we use azote (nitrogen).

If not, I use a bearing puller. The use of two screwdrivers can lead to the bearing being cocked to one side more than the other, making it more difficult to remove.

the free one gallon paint lid opener you get at home depot when you buy paint works wonders. I use it all the time and it’s probably what you see people using As it matches your description.

Ok that makes sense to freeze them first I suppose, can you show me the bearing pullers you use? I’m used to using them for big industrial machines not of little ones in the truck, a part number so I can buy a set too would be awesome! Thanks in advance
