Arrma RC's
  1. BigRock
  2. Granite
  3. Senton 6s
I have had my Big Rock for about a week and I have broken the wheelie bar support twice already. I designed and 3d printed a beefier support that hopefully will not break as easy.

Even if it breaks again I can print them for less than 50 cents in material cost. I might also print it in TPU which is more flexible.

I have 2 Big Rocks so I am going to run the PETG plastic on one truck and TPU on the other truck to see which works better.

Get you a t bone ???

I'm offering my opinion. I own it and have used it. As far as wheelie bars go it's terrible. I got it because you couldn't get the Arrma wheelie bar at that time. Why would that annoy you, not that I really give a flying Freddy.

The post making was talking about breaking his wheelie bar/bumper so just get a tbone that’s better made !! Yes I agree it’s not a good wheelie bar but but far as better protection / better made its better !!

I've owned 2 Granites. I got the first one in July. That one didn't come with a wheelie bar. After I upgraded it I was constantly flipping onto its lid. The only wheelie bar I could buy was the one made by T-bone. My rear bumper wasn't an issue. I never broke it. But if I wanted a wheelie bar I had to get bumper too. So while the rear T-bone bumper is undoubtedly stronger, it didn't really matter to me because I almost never even had contact on the rear of my truck. And as far as the functionality of the wheelie bar goes, I was very disappointed. It pretty much did nothing. And since I never had an issue with my stock bumper, the whole purchase was a waste of money.

Fast forward to the 3s BLX. I have broke the wheelie bar spring twice. So I just zip tied it in place. Problem solved and I have yet to damage the rear bumper/skid. I retired the original Granite broken it down for parts. Where is the T-bone bumper that was on it? In a box collecting dust. I'd never put it on my BLX because I like riding wheelies.

Yeah I had the same problems just overall tired of the stuff breaking so that’s why I upgraded to tbone and I keep my finger out the throttle like smashing it I just ease into it and it doesn’t wheelie like smashing it does ... just throttle control is what I’ve learned

About 4 months ago, I picked a used Granite on ebay (the one I use for the drivetrain swap). It came loaded with with t-bone junk, 2 broken bumpers & 2 new bumpers that was on the that had to be replacements. The pathetic wheelie bar was with the new bumper. I tried the new bumpers on the truck when it was in 4s form & the new bumpers ending up wrecked pretty fast. As you can see, I like wheelies & backflips. T-bones' stuff takes poorly to impacts caused by that kind of abuse. I won't even go into how useless that wheel bar is. It's like they stuck a wheel on it as an afterthought.

I don't like the plastic t-bone uses. There are plenty of hard plastics & composites out there that will survive armageddon but RC companies tend to make their junk out of stuff that will break so you WILL have to buy more of it - to break again. ATM, I work at a plastic plant in the experimental department so I have been a part of everything from hush-hush projects to goofing around making a plastic basketball that weighs, feels, & bounces the same as a rubber ball - & it's solid. I also know the cost of production of the plastic t-bone uses & it's literally pennies per sq ft. This is also why I cut my own bumpers. The stuff I use costs over 70 cent per sq ft & is completely bomb proof on an RC. The plastic that RC companies use is a mixture of different polymers, resins, & fibers. Usually the more harder flexible materials weigh more. The plastic that t-bone use is similar to the plastic use in TVs, Very hard, not very flexible, & will break 1000x b4 bending. That makes for a very bad bumper. Bumpers need to take impacts, redirecting the flow of force through absorption & compression before that force is allow to reach the body or chassis. T-bone's bumpers actually compound forces by being so stiff. When they break, they send added forces into the chassis that a normal compression bumper would reduce or eliminate.

Ok if that’s the case bro why did I snap my chassis damn near in half with the stock bumper /skid but with these new tbones nothing but scratches on the tbone ?

Rear skid and underneath damn near spilt the rear chassis in half !! I’ve had to rebuild my whole truck once and don’t feel like doing it that’s why I went with tbones rich duperbash does and his hold up and I know damn good and well no one on here including myself bashing like he does !! So anything he buys I’m buying!! Call me a fan boy or whatever you like but my truck is golden now and his doing better then ever !!
