So im not really sure which direction is best.
More like a Kraton with its 3.8x6.5" wheels or more like a Talion with its smaller 2.2x5.7" wheels? Compared to the Typhon 6S's with its stock 1.7x4.6" wheels.

I like the Bandito C2 at 1.8x4.2" wheels for the Typhon 3S. Nice amount of wheel spin and balance. I'll do the belted ones next time, over 45 they get funky. And they don't seem to last all that long.

I decided to start off with Kraton Wheel Hubs, spindles and hex hubs to properly accommodate some larger 2.8x5.4" offset tires. I have 15mm extended hubs too if I need them but i likely wont for 2.8's. I got them to try out some larger 3.8x6.5 wheels at some point without having to change the arms and shocks to see if I like it first. Although I already have the Kraton Driveshafts so...

The way I see it, the wheel height difference with its stock 16T pinion and 50t spur will make it fast! Its only a half a pound heavier with the bigger belted tires and hubs at around 7.92 lbs (3.59kg) compared to a 10.67 lb (4.85kg) Kraton with a 12t/50t and 3.8x6.5" wheels. The Typhon Braton Should hit a 100mph with Lipo 6S 100+C on pavement. I have the Duratrax Bandito MT Belt 2.8's for that try. And a set of Duratrax Sixpack MT Belt 2.8's for the fields. Its gonna need a fan but its cool where I am year round mostly, never gets that hot for that long. So we'll see when thats needed. LOL

The somewhat wider stance and tire patch should give the Typhon 6S the traction to hit and maintain speed and stability. Although its a bit short :-/
Thats how the Typhon 3S was able to go so fast. Better traction! Those stock tires just loose grip at all speeds slowing the car down and its gets unstable which also slows the car down.

Im concerned about pulling wheelies with the Truggy to easily! Its a waste of energy although lots of fun. We'll get to that with diff oils. I have 30k, 60k and 200k cps from Ultimate Racing to start off with.

Previous upgrade prelude for the Typhon 6S BLX V5 includes a Flysky FS GT5 with BS6 Gyro Receiver, 35KG 7.4v High Torque Servo with an Aluminum Steering Servo Mount. The stock ones are so bad! FastEddy Bearings (I spun 2 stock arrma ones in the first week!), RPM and Arrma EXB bumpers front and rear (I don't like the EXB bumper so much) but waiting for TBR to have them for the 6S BLX's. I have (2) HOOVO 6S LiPos at 8000mAh 100C for it. And some 3S 100C 8000mAh Lipos as well as some 2S's at 80C.
I'll get a lighter weight lower mAh battery for high speed runs when I need it. The good ones are expensive!
The 8000mAh's are heavy but boy do they last and give up power!


I'll post photos with descriptions as it comes along. Take advice and show results.

Ran some pre-trial tests today before the Storms set in!
Also waiting for new bearings and i have a set of stainless steel screws for the entire car coming next week to replace.

This video below is apparently a common issue and its just overtightened hubs. Right?
Id like to replace the stock Servo Saver with an Adjustable type. Maybe that whole steering assembly, its seems a bit off.
Suggestions?

New Truggy is Heavier than I thought it was going to be. Hard to get accurate weights on things including tires! I bought a scale so I can weight everything myself!

6S Typhon Truggy
New Weight: 9.1 lbs (4132gm) + 6S Lipo 100C 8000mAh 2.17 lbs (986gm) = 11.28 lbs (5118gm) Total

So speaking of breaks...

Since new the Typhon 3S breaks on a dime! Nearly locks up the wheels. I love it.
Since new the Typhon 6S hardly breaks at all. Terrible. Ive only turned up the breaking in the SkyFly controller to 100%. Haven't messed with the ESC yet. I Just ordered the Spectrum programmer so I can update the firmware and the settings more easily.

Whats with the Breaks on the 6S? Or the lack of them.

I Just, last night, changed out the center diff oil with 100k. Haven't run it yet.

Got these WEISHUJI 3pcs Pinion Gear Set from Amazon. 17T 18T 19T M1. Are these any good?

I installed the Arrma 20t pinion that came with the car and it seems beefier than these. They don't look right. I was gonna put the 18t in but... I'll try the 20t first and see about these Amazon Pinions.

I also ordered a center dif brace in Aluminum (Hot Racing) to replace the plastic one (part ARA320499). I got one for a Kraton, by mistake; its not the same size, the one they sent me was too short. I want to replace the top plastic brace as well. So flimsy.
*EDIT: Apparently they say its the same part for new Typhon but its not. I Have to use all HR parts? I see other Amazon no-name for less but look cheap.

Took the new truggy out this weekend with the kids and adults. She ran real fast over short grass fields with hills and paths. Not allot of wheelies! She stayed planted mostly. Not great for flips, unless their cartwheels LOL
Powerful little thing. Everyone wants to see the car-thing and all say the same; damn that things fast! Hahaha. It's funny.

So this happened... Only on the fronts. Couldn't keep the front tires on the ground over grass so they were just free-wheeling.
NOT allot of ballooning, so that was good.

Running Across the school sports field. Short, tight cut grass. Long field.
6S 8000mAh 100C battery (001 resistance)
20t pinion, 50t spur. 100k center dif. Stock 7k F/R still.

At 75% Throttled limited, I could hardly get past 1/2 throttle without lifting the Front wheels. Punching it just flips it over backwards - even at Speed!
Tried a slow climb up but once it got over 40'ish mph just a little more throttle lifts the front wheels and holds them a few inches off the ground while it rides on its ass. More throttle just makes it Back-flip and carwheel. Cracked the body shell already - Damn it! (although I SO WANT a Blue one!)

At first the rear-end would just pull down to the Ground and ride along the grass. It was silly, I spun down the rear springs to give it more lift and its better but needs more attention. More spring and thicker fluid.
The front was fine! LOL Hardly touched the ground ;-) Actually the steering and cornering and control was Great on the grass and fields.
Got to get the rear-end sorted first!

I just hit 50 MPH at around half throttle (with No throttle limit) with the front wheels off the ground before the F-Tires blew off the beed's. It was Glorious!

On pavement with these tires it just leaps up in the air, flips and wants to bounce around the street! Not too unlike this dog.

And YES it was HOT! The thermal gun is coming tomorrow so I can keep my eyes on it. Have a HS/Fan for it too and Ceramic Bearings for the motor in the mail. I'd water-cool it, except for the weight. For years my computers were all water cooled. Till I gave up on Bill and went with over to the Dark Side - I build my own mac's mind-you except for a few mac-Mini's, but they just run cooler and better than anything from MS!

Need More SPEED!

EDIT: With the 2.8 Belted Bandito's i was just pulling between 78-82mph rips on the street. Cant get full throttle without being in a full squat then flipping over. Very Powerful, plenty more speed to be had with allot of tuning! So just over 80 mph was all I could throttle up without carnage and hurting someone's property on my small-town street, in front of a school, and a church, and an old-age home - .

YES we are. That is most certainly the plan. I reply.

The 20t pinion in the 6S pitbull is a bit too much. It just keeps ripping the tires out of the beed. I ordered some really good tire glue!
Ballooning isn't a problem with these tires. its just over powering them. At 54mph i went from half throttle to nearly full and it just jumps and backflips, with the street tires. I have a RPM rear bumper instead of a wheelie bar. Upside down slide for many meters! Cant even use the Sixpack MTs on pavement, its just not okay. Was using them on some dirt ramps, gravel and grass. It was a hot today, temps were well over 150 on the motor. Still waiting for the fans!
I was running 100k center Diff. 80k Front and still the stock 7k Rear. Its better with the 80k in the front, I was gonna do 30k in the rear... not sure.

Its too short! It needs to be a few inches longer.
Im sure I'll be bending this chassis at some point so will definitely replace it with a longer one!

The rear is still pulling down hard! Drags its bottom along the ground too easily.

I have an m2ced out 6s Typhon & I ended up putting 70 weight oil in the front shocks & 60 in the rear to try to mitigate the added weight. I thought it was still too soft so I swapped in stiffer springs on all 4 corners. I don't recall the numbers on them- sorry I can't be more help there

Thats what I was thinking too. i have the oil. and I may go back to the 8x1x2 piston in the rear that i changed.
But i again heard the Mojave 6S shocks will fit.
Its the rear thats the issue.

REAR - Mojave 6S exb rear shocks / 84mm M 56.6gf Springs with 800cst (60wt)
FRONT - Typhon 6S blx rear shocks / 70mm 1.35n/sq.m Springs with 1000cst (80wt)

Dramatically improved speed running over grass and Dirt. Also good with Hoons and Banditos on pavement. I went stiffer in the front and back, but had to back off a bit.
Not scrapping bottom so much anymore but still sits fairly low, as a buggy is.

Diff fluid is about 80k +/- front, 150k +/- center, 50k +/- rear (blends of 30k, 60k, 200k)

Less Wheelies, more available throttle.
More planted with a less bouncy ride - but its much stiffer than stock!
Smaller diameter tires allow for more throttle without jumping.
Larger diameter tires are difficult on both surfaces. It just wants to jump and leap in the air on hard throttle but MUCH better than stock! It'll need a longer wheelbase to discourage that behavior.

Its a bit too wide for its length in my opinion. we'll see how it runs. Likely do a long wheelbase chassis next.

So im not really sure which direction is best.
More like a Kraton with its 3.8x6.5" wheels or more like a Talion with its smaller 2.2x5.7" wheels? Compared to the Typhon 6S's with its stock 1.7x4.6" wheels.

I like the Bandito C2 at 1.8x4.2" wheels for the Typhon 3S. Nice amount of wheel spin and balance. I'll do the belted ones next time, over 45 they get funky. And they don't seem to last all that long.

I decided to start off with Kraton Wheel Hubs, spindles and hex hubs to properly accommodate some larger 2.8x5.4" offset tires. I have 15mm extended hubs too if I need them but i likely wont for 2.8's. I got them to try out some larger 3.8x6.5 wheels at some point without having to change the arms and shocks to see if I like it first. Although I already have the Kraton Driveshafts so...

The way I see it, the wheel height difference with its stock 16T pinion and 50t spur will make it fast! Its only a half a pound heavier with the bigger belted tires and hubs at around 7.92 lbs (3.59kg) compared to a 10.67 lb (4.85kg) Kraton with a 12t/50t and 3.8x6.5" wheels. The Typhon Braton Should hit a 100mph with Lipo 6S 100+C on pavement. I have the Duratrax Bandito MT Belt 2.8's for that try. And a set of Duratrax Sixpack MT Belt 2.8's for the fields. Its gonna need a fan but its cool where I am year round mostly, never gets that hot for that long. So we'll see when thats needed. LOL

The somewhat wider stance and tire patch should give the Typhon 6S the traction to hit and maintain speed and stability. Although its a bit short :-/
Thats how the Typhon 3S was able to go so fast. Better traction! Those stock tires just loose grip at all speeds slowing the car down and its gets unstable which also slows the car down.

Im concerned about pulling wheelies with the Truggy to easily! Its a waste of energy although lots of fun. We'll get to that with diff oils. I have 30k, 60k and 200k cps from Ultimate Racing to start off with.

Previous upgrade prelude for the Typhon 6S BLX V5 includes a Flysky FS GT5 with BS6 Gyro Receiver, 35KG 7.4v High Torque Servo with an Aluminum Steering Servo Mount. The stock ones are so bad! FastEddy Bearings (I spun 2 stock arrma ones in the first week!), RPM and Arrma EXB bumpers front and rear (I don't like the EXB bumper so much) but waiting for TBR to have them for the 6S BLX's. I have (2) HOOVO 6S LiPos at 8000mAh 100C for it. And some 3S 100C 8000mAh Lipos as well as some 2S's at 80C.
I'll get a lighter weight lower mAh battery for high speed runs when I need it. The good ones are expensive!
The 8000mAh's are heavy but boy do they last and give up power!

Ran some pre-trial tests today before the Storms set in!
Also waiting for new bearings and i have a set of stainless steel screws for the entire car coming next week to replace.

This video below is apparently a common issue and its just overtightened hubs. Right?
Id like to replace the stock Servo Saver with an Adjustable type. Maybe that whole steering assembly, its seems a bit off.
Suggestions?

Pivot balls are almost always overlooked. Even out the box are sometimes locked up or even too loose. In the video it is clear that the Servo saver is working overtime. NG. Despite the Servo making full rotation sweep.

This is first thing you do before even installing the servo. The first thing I do with a new rig out the box.
The only way to get them just right. No binding, but no undue slop as well.
New PB's and Hubs usually loosen up after a break in. But can also get dirty and bind up. They need maintenance regularly also. A look over at least. Noticeable when the Servo Saver starts to work overtime, losing Steering travel.
