Anyone running Arrma metal diff and HR diff housing?

After olds97_Iss recent issues with the Arrma metal diff fitting in the stock plastic diff housing I was wondering if anyone had fitted them to the HR alloy diff housing?

So this

I have the Hot Racing gearbox cases and with the stock diff cups you need more shims than you do with the Arrma gearbox cases, iirc I ended up with 2 of these shims https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tekno-RC-1...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 on each side to get the mesh right.

Kind of had that back in the day when I got gpm diff cases for my savage. People upgraded them to alloy partly to have less flex in the case and partly because there was more wiggle room for shimming properly. Good to know that the hot racing ones sound similar. But doesn't sound like enough to work well.

If you notice in my thread, the arrma metal cases make it .8mm wider at the outer edge of the bearings. So if you have to add a couple .1mm shims, I'm not sure that's enough wiggle room yet. When I measured the stock diff from the outside of bearing to bearing it was 31.8mm and with the arrma alloy case it was 32.6mm.

Well I’ll be building these at the weekend so will keep you updated.

For the veteran diff builders I’m sure I have the shims covered as I have these

Diff internals:
Mugen E0206

Diff external-

Output drive:
Kyosho 96643 5 x 7 x 0.1 and 0.2

Input drive:
Kyosho 96643 5 x 7 x 01 and 0.2

Diff bearings to bearing housing:
Kyosho 96772 13 x 16 x 0.15

In my mind that’s it?
