Looks like it had something bound against it.. rock, stick, something.. got hot, and melted through... Can clearly see the heat in the plastic...đź‘Ť

no thats epoxy- it happened before once- thought that would have been fix- wrong.
could rc ride height possibly be a culprit?
it only happens on right rear side- woiuld thicker diff oil help??

Interesting... The epoxy would make sense looking like that.. ride height would only affect this if it had extreme arm angles causing a bind in the cvd..

There could be several reasons for the break, only you would know the exact moment when it was severed, and what it went through before and at the moment of the break... (I.e. standing backflips, landing on throttle, still burnout's)

This is the first I've seen this kind of shaft failure posted here..

Thicker fluid would help distribute the load across both shafts, but I highly doubt that is the cause of the breakage...

i have 1/8 scale shocks on 1/10 vorteks- so the arm angle is borderline extreme- it has happened at various time while driving- but nothing crazy like jumps etc.
i find it odd its only on the rear back side. i was thinking go thicker on diff fluid so the acceleration isnt as instant. idk if thats even right though.

I had this same problem I think your slipper is to tight

agreed- i am running a hot racing slipper eliminator. i found a fix for this problem- so far so good- ran on 4s, i pack so far- hard high reving/throttling- no issues at all- but barely 1 pack ran on it. but ran like i wanted them to pop off. haven't had a issue. 6s is next, test trial. if im going to test them on 8s, but it is a possibilty if i wanted.
