Been working on this car for couple weeks.got lots of time in body, cutting, painting, mounting, an making stronger.sprayed a whole can of flex-seal on it,multiple coats..worked great....ran car last night on 3s for 83mph..I'm expecting it to doing something bad,get loose or blowover at some point...did some 5s hits feeling car out mostly..hit 105mph last pull while gaining some confidence. My vendetta seams way more streamline during pulls...car is crazy fast on 5s..
Stock notorious chassis
Typhon suspension
Vendetta defuser & mounts,splitter......

Needs a bigger pinion if you ask me  Looks like a fun whip bro (y)
Funny you say that..bout to build a 20t spool.😆😅🤣😂🤣😅😆..gonna give tp5670-1270kv a whirl....won't get hot, more weight makes tuning a car easier, less likely to BO..amazing Im Fitting xlx2,56×102mm motor,an room for as many packs as I would ever want with this SWB 1/8 chassis..😆😅🤣😂😂😂
5670 adds alot of weight to the front of car.biggest motor I've ever seen in swb 1/8th car.52/20

Yeah but...you're not making the pinion bigger  I'm just being droll, I get the fact that making the spool smaller has the same effect. Looks awesome bro :)

Such a beast of a motor lol. I have that same one in my fireteam and it rips. I know it's ripping in your SWB 😱

I’ve heard some warnings about running the 56 TP 6-pole motors with the XLX2. Any issues?
As long as you stay under 1500KV they work just fine with the XLX2. Moirae is even finding great success with a sensored 1720KV motor. How much of this is down to it being a sensored motor is up for debate. Someone would need to try it with an unsensored version of the same motor. I've seen a 1920KV big block send an XLX2 up in flames in fairly short order.

I really wish I would have started going xlx2 sooner. I have the 6 pole 1920kv in my felony c8 but it's using a mmx8s instead of an xlx2. Zero problems with the combo but yea apparently mmx8s never had the same problem as the xlx2. I should try to sell one of my mmx8s and get another xlx2. I should stop being lazy and try it in my infraction 🤣

Anybody run a big TP 6-pole motor on a Max 6?
I’m going to start a thread in the electronics section.

Yeah, I felt the same way. Fortunately my MMX8S died and Castle sent me an XLX2 back in error. Yeah, I had to pay $130 for the "repair" but that's still a deal in my book. While I was waiting for that RMA I bought an XLX2 which developed a fault within a week so I sent that back to the hobby shop I bought it from and bought another XLX2 while I was waiting for that RMA. Now I have one in the car and two spares...or a dual motor build, quietly waiting in the wings.

I have on a max 5 but never tried a max 6. I feel like it wouldn't work very well but what do I know 🤣

Here‘s my question in electronics. Any input would be appreciated.

Depends what you are using it for. The HW escs will hit amperage limiting and cut the power if you are gearing for speeds up over 90mph.

From what I understand the 6 pole motors will act up on any of the Castle ESCs, but you have to put them into the 400+ amp territory over 130 mph speeds and over 1500 KV

Saying it did not have an issue with an MMX8s isn't relative if it was basher speeds under 100 mph.

Does that go for all 6 pole motors? Wye wind and D wind regardless of Kv?
Yes although with the Y-wind you may be able to squeeze in a few more KV, for example, 1460 KV where as with a D-wind you may only be able to run a 1356 kv in that same 5660 size motor.

I was told that over 1300 is a risk as a general statement, but there seems to be plenty of people running in the 1300-1460 range.

Thanks. The reason I asked is because for now I’m running the 5670 1270kv in the speed run car. It’s a 6 pole Y wind.

Yep that should be a solid motor.
Ultimately I belive it comes down to RPM. 6-pole and Castle just can't go beyond 40k RPMs it seems.
