TLDR: Internal BEC circuit failed, over-volted & cooked my Tr326, Firrma servo & rear LED.
New Receiver, spare servo & ESC works with BEC power (red) wire removed, & a Castle Creations external BEC.

The Story:

Hope this helps anyone who has the same issue & didn't want to buy a new ESC.
This is how it worked out for me.

So I was out with my Frankensteined Typhon for a late night loading dock bash a few weeks ago... Just installed a new 30mm-ish motor fan because one of the cheap ones I bought, broke & fixed, died an early death. More on that later...

But I'm still shaking this thing down after the rebuild, and all of a sudden my rear Red LED seemed extremely bright, then kinda went out.
(1st ignored sign)
I tried cycling the light switch I had installed in the 3rd channel to get it back on to no avail, but noticed my white front LEDs randomly change in intensity.
(2nd ignored sign)

Then my steering was off... I thought that I just killed the new Firrma servo running worn Mojave tires in the rear & some reglued cheap buggy tires up front. (Was also torture testing the all metal 29mm EXB LSD diff) and as I tried to bring it in, the throttle surged and I hit my leg (that got my attention!!! For a little while.)

After a while all seemed normal & I continued to bash. Then I lost all steering...
Pulled the body clips & noticed the random rpm changes in the fans coincided with the intensity of the front LEDs. I pulled the battery plugs, and put her away for the night.

The next day I was swapping out the servo for a spare that seemed glitchy on 6s. But nothing when I plugged it in. Then I noticed the fan rpm thing, no light on the receiver, but the front LEDs were on without me cycling the 3rd channel switch.

I tried rebinding, but got nothing. So now I think the receiver is shot. I started blaming the new fan, my end point adjustments, the Guy I got this ESC from on FB (he's actually a cool guy), my staggered tire set-up, or my gearing & the underpowered fans (despite the cold weather) but it really doesn't matter now.

Spare servo, $20 2nd hand 6 channel SLT receiver I got off eBay, & ESC works on the castle BEC that I already had with the BLX185's internal BEC wire disconnected. ESC fan will need to be powered off of the Y connector for the motor fan until I get a 40mm fan upgrade.

The last 3 channels will basically just be additional power sockets for the fans & lights for now.

P.S.
Tested my original BLX185 in the same manor and it's STILL a no go. Green light then red flashes.

Found some binding in my steering setup from using oversized rear turnbuckles as steering turnbuckles in the rearmost holes of the Ackerman plate. This rubbed the servo saver side only.

Probably overloaded the servo & the ESC's BEC circuit.

Fans were killed by me being lazy & not removing the heatsink with the motor detached. The motor fell and snatched the the leads out of the motor cooling fans. I managed to resolder them, but one wasn't working 100% of the time.

Great find. May work also with other esc's.
I used to run an a BEC with the 185blx. I had power hungry servo in a Kraton.

Thanks @revosmash.
I've had the lil 10 amp Castle BEC sitting around for about 6 months. Was planning on installing set to 8.4v when I changed all my battery connections. But delayed installing it since the newer, but used ESC had the dual EC5 battery connections.

I may still do surgery on my original ESC to install male servo connections for the power switch & signal input. That one still powers it's own Fan. But an 8s Capable ESC may be in my future for a stretched or 1/5 scale build.
