Just wanted to update this thread... the esc was the problem! Swapped it out for a spare Spektrum 160a from a buddy of mine just to test, and the studder/hesitation went away... so now I'm running a Max5 and put the TP motor back in. I appreciate all the suggestions and help from you guys, I wish I knew what was wrong with the esc so I could try to repair it, I don't have the receipt anymore, do you think I'd have any luck trying the warranty route with Castle?
