DX3 troubles. Won’t bind, won’t reset. It it broken or is there a magic solution?

I know there are hundreds of posts about transmitters, but I can’t find this specific problem.

I bought a DX3 radio and SR6100 receiver off ebay. The receiver works fine, but the transmitter is giving me trouble. It turns on ok, makes the beep and the LED goes green. It won’t go into bind mode and It won’t process the reset procedure, the led just stays steady green, no flashing, color changes or beeps. It doesn’t seem to respond to any combination of button presses or steering inputs.

Before I junk it, does anyone know a mystery fix?

Assuming it was broken, I took the whole thing apart, checked all the plugs/connectors and reassembled. Hey presto, it works fine!
