I haven’t tried the ones with the antenna, do they have better range than the ones without.
I would assume so but ?
The antenna less ones are good but I’ve lost signal a few times. Even short distances with an object like a mound/hill in the way.
Do you have the V1 or V2 version of the rx? I assume that the one with the antenna offers more range because I only see negative range feedback about the smaller one. This last couple receivers I bought are both V2 but not sure about the one that came in the radio package. I love the system though and plan to stick with it from now on. In time with this new protocol they'll get telemetry into a firmware update and then we'll be jammin.
I have a friend that will only use FlySky for his racing drones no matter what anyone else says or what else comes out. He swears by their protocol and seems to understand why everything works well. I offered to loan him my Taranis radio to try out while I'm on hiatus and he won't touch it. And he won't even look at any Spektrum flight products because of range issues.
