Gathering and learning from this forum. Decided to do an overbuild of a Kraton EXB 6S. Slapped on PPS motor mount and squeeze in a 5687 Hobbywing 1100kv just to see if I could. Well, it worked and now I have an 8s system inside an 6S body

How did it work out? I have a HEAVY M2C'd K6 that overheats every motor I've tried in it. From a 1650kv 4092, 1250kv 4092, and two Spektrum 1250kv 4685's over 200 degreesF. Ran 6s on all the motors, the 8s on the 1650 and 1250 4092's. I haven't tried running the 4685's on 8s. On 8s both ESC and motor ran a little cooler, but not near enough. It mostly benefited the ESC. I don't run it top speed either, as I don't have the room. Have run the 4092's at an 18t pinion, and the 1250kv 4685 Spektrums with 23t. Would probably take me a 2-3 months to gather enough money for this setup. I'd get the PPS knockoff to save a bit. I'm super limited on money compared to most hobbyists here. Is it worth it, or should try my overheated 4685's again on 8s?

It’s been a pretty nice setup. Granted I only drive it in mild climate and I have 3 game changer style fans running on a separate 3s battery to keep temps down.
