The Hobbywing 4274 2000kv G2 is rated for 100 Celsius / 212 degrees Fahrenheit, the Firma 2050kv is only rated for 71C / 160F.
Yeah, I don't put much faith in Spektrum's published specs, they are often wrong..
Such as, 5050 watts of power from a Firma 2050kv motor.
https://www.spektrumrc.com/product/firma-2050kv-brushless-motor/SPMXSM1700.html

Yet the G1 HW Quicrun 4074SL 2000kv motor that the Firma 2050 is a rebrand of, is only rated at 2600 watts.. much info gets copy and pasted incorrectly I find.. I bet anything that a Firma 2050kv can and will operate well beyond 160F.

The above is of course the G1 version of the Quicrun 4074 motor, which has now been replaced by the 4274 G2... hard to find specs on the G1 these days. Also, HW stopped giving power ratings on motors since the G2 line came out I've noticed. The venerable HW 4985 1650kv was rated at 5600 watts IIRC, yet the 5690 has no power rating, but, many here can confirm just how much more powerful it is than a Spektrum 2050kv motor. Way more powerful than the 550 watt difference that Spektrum's propaganda specs would suggest. I'm not blasting Spektrum, but rather the copy and paste specifications that many companies are using these days. Very misleading. Add to that the fact that many companies, including Arrma, will give specs "A,C,E" for one model, then specs "B,D,F" on another.. how are we supposed to compare? I suspect they either don't care, or don't want us too?

RC Juice is having a sale on Hobbystar v2 motors but I just got an offer on ebay for this quicrun 4274 at pretty much the same price. It will be paired with the quicrun g2 150A esc that's coming on the boat for $70.

Depending on how my Custom 4S alloy chassis Mojave does on the corner scale assembled, the motor size will be critical to balance out the Lipo Pack. Right now, my Rocket/Surpass 4985 1580kv can comes in at nearly 600 grams and won't allow much flexibility for gearing.

Quicrun 4274 2000kw G2 is about 470g, much heavier than the Quicrun G1 4274 or Spektrum 2050kv and is not the same. The 71C / 160F temperature rating comes directly from the Spektrum 2050kv manual and could very well be understated but its not a misquote from the internet.

Okay, but the 5050 watt power rating for the Firma 4074 clearly is a typo.. why would anyone think they wouldn't have just as easily crossed up the weights like they did the power ratings? I'm sure there is added weight from the motor fins, and I don't doubt the motor is heavier and potentially more powerful from G1 to G2. That is the point, right?
In the end, my point is that I seriously doubt there to be any noticeable difference in power output from a BLX4074,Firma 4074, or a Quicrun 4074/4274.. they're all likely putting out around 2500 watts.

That's like saying the Castle 1515 v1 and v2 are the same. We're talking 10+mph in a 1/7 scale road car on just a motor swap alone(same gearing/Esc/Lipo). The Firma 4074 is a pud compared to other brands, except maybe the 1515 knockoff who probably manufactures both motors :ROFLMAO:

What is? When did we start talking about Castle? The BLX, Firma and Quicrun are all budget bangers.. 🤷‍♂️
And, all made by HW.

Don't know why you're getting so defensive being a "so called" putt-putt A to B land-only driver who runs box stock power systems and doesn't send big ;)

Sorry, maybe I came off wrong.. I just don't see much if any difference between the motors we're talking about. Save the Castle stuff of course, I no speak Ca$tle, LOL.
But, aside from the Firma 4074 being fin deleted, what differences besides paint color and bullet size can be found between these motors?

They literally all use the same can and end bell, LOL. I will say though that the HW Quicrun is easily the best deal on the net for a motor in this range at $46!!👌
The Quicrun G2 combo is only $112 from HW direct too!

Higher quality of wire windings/stator magnetism with concentricity, and better temperature insulation between phases. Balance, power, and efficiency ++ 👌
