Hey guys ,
Need some help if possible , I think that it won't be long and I'll need a spur gear already .
I'm kinda shocked to be honest as I've not had this Vorteks a week but noticed a slight and ever so slight clicking on de acceleration.
I've taken the standard spur out and a mark on one or two teeth , so rather than it poop itself im thinking of picking up the Hot Racing Steel Spur gear 91 tooth 48 pitch .
I know alot of you do the 0.8 mod but I'm waiting to keep the 48 pitch for now .
My question is that do you know of anywhere in the UK that might stock it rather than trying to order from America or China and waiting 15 days .
Thanks in advance guys .

Are you running a mega/brushed 4x4??? That spur states Mega 4x4????
That steel spur may require an extensive slipper mod to make it work.

Where I would begin, I would just replace with another plastic spur. Is your Motor mount slightly bent? Do you frequently remove the power module to clean and maintain it internally? These are reasons the spur will fail in the first place. Going with Steel spur may just be a crutch you are grabbing for. IDK. I would not run 48 pitch with the Vortek.
32pitch/ Modulus .08 is preferred for BLX bashers at a minimum. (larger tooth profile)

The 91T plastic spur gear is horrible for picking up tiny rocks and embedding into the plastic. That's probably the clicking you're hearing. The slipper case unfortunately isn't sealed. If you really want to stick to the 91T spur for now look into one of these.

You don't have to get it from there. Available elsewhere. I got a couple from Ebay. A metal spur and several pinions to play with. First time out both my son's and grandson's Granite were crunching. Tried these. Cheap and works great. He's got a VXL3 system from a Rustler he wants to try with this slipper. Just needs some batteries. No idea how that will go but, that's how you learn. Lol.

Man, I've spent way too much time searching UK sites. Several major sites list it. None available. May have to order from Aliexpress.

If you can get that HR spur gear, it looks like the correct one? Not 100% sure. The one problem you'll run into is that red plastic nut that adjusts the tension. Most are jammed on there and even cross threaded. Won't move. IF you do get it off, you may not get it back on and hold proper tension. Just my .02.

The one nice thing about the one I listed, it has an aluminum nut. Does move and can adjust the tension on the slipper pads.

Thanks Ray mate appreciate it I'll get one ordered asap .
Yeah looking to stick with the 48 pitch .
I'm shocked that arrma let this as a weak point on the car .
I mean don't get me wrong it's fine right now , but on. Close Inspection nothing has changed .
Have you tried that one from Ali express by the way ?

I got 2 just like it from Ebay. They're in a couple Granites. Doing fine on the stock NiMH batteries. Don't know how they'll hold up to brushless.
