How to fix this leaking issue on Supervee?

I have a Supervee 27 and it has a weird problem. The silicone sock thing that goes over the steering arm is falling apart and letting water in. Anyone have any recommendations?

I've seen little boots like that at the auto parts stores if they aren't available for purchase

It is silicone that is really old. Like the silicone things that cover parts of traxxas driveshafts. I’m not sure tpu would do it. Have you done anything like that?

Dust boot! That’s the proper name. Yeah I’m not sure how I would make one for that is not meant to fit this vehicle. I may check that out though
