I'm building my first Limiless. So any advice from experienced Limitless peeps would be helpful.
I'm putting a Casstle 2028 110kv in it with a mamba XLX2. I have the motor mounted. Now I need to figure out how th esc should be attached.

XLX2 looked good where you have it sitting in the pic (which is actually the best place for it). You can print a template of the bottom screw holes from the Castle website and use that to make holes in the area you want it to sit. Then you can screw it in from he bottom of that piece (which actually is easily removed). The easy way would be to just use a good double sided tape like Gorilla Tape or 3M double sided velcro and stick it in place. I've used the Gorilla Tape on most of my ESCs (MMX8S and XLX2) and never had a problem. That paint job is top-notch by the way...I wish I could paint that well! LOL Nice build also. Is it a V1 or V2 Limitless?

Here's a link to the mounting template. Just click on where you see XLX2 Mounting Template and you can download a pic of where the screw holes are with measurements as well: https://www.castlecreations.com/en/castle-mamba-xlx2-resource-page

You can also check EBay for tower to tower braces with brackets for placing the XLX2 behind the center diff mount: https://www.ebay.com/itm/275891702647

V2. Thanks for the compliments on the paint. Unfortunately I got alot of trash in my first coat because the lexan has so much static.

Hello Tim congrats and welcome to the forum!

Many options for how to mount the XLX2 on a V2. I found that shaving off the mount posts was enough to let the velcro sit properly, and also lowers the height a bit so the XLX2 doesn’t scrape off that beautiful paint at the top.

Others just cut the tray out entirely, just keeping the servo box and the receiver box (e.g. Raz). Some guys at the track just cut the body to let the ESC punch through for better airflow and cooling.

Have fun modding and keep us posted!

PS. Is that a 39t pinion? 🤔

How fast do you plan on going?
Most of us find that hoons are only good for some parking lot fun and not for dedicated speed use.

Be sure to take extra safety precautions when running thing rig. You can snap someone's leg or worse if you hit them at high speeds.
