Lol no this helps to cool the motor, hints "motor cooling fan" I mean I'd bet it doesn't have very good fans but they will still help to cool it down as will the heatsink.

It sure does look cheap. Some of the setups work best on smooth cans and some work on finned cans. This says for 55mm diameter motors and the majority of 1/5 scale motors are 56 mm smooth can and 58mm with fins.

There is a difference between a heatsink and a fan shroud. A heatsink pulls the heat out to a fin that dissipates the heat quickly. A fan shroud directs the air pushed by the fans around the sides of the motor can, which also will cool it more quickly than no air passing the can.

It has NO heatsink, it’s a fake heatsink made of plastic.
So you are taking a hot piece of metal and wrapping it in a layer of plastic.

I had this on my 56113 leopard that had fins and it fit great. I removed the fans and put 2 40x40x28 fans on it though to really shove some air through

So you are taking a hot piece of metal and wrapping it in a layer of plastic.

OK you didn't say when I commented it was plastic and doesn't say on the box either my bad. It will still work just the heatsink part that is plastic won't help absorb the heat like a metal one. The second one you posted above would work better but again I'd suggest better fans and the NHX fans are not very good.

I believe the mount can hold 2 40mm fans. Could work.

I decided I want the motor to be hotter so I ordered the castle dual fan plastic one.
