New gorgon cooked 2 stock Nimh

Gave my son a Gorgon for Xmas, was great for the first few weeks only issue was the motor wiggling out of alignment right out if the box.

Few weeks of use and suddenly the battery (Nimh 7 hump stock) started smoking and completely melted on one end. I contacted customer service and they have sent a replacement out.

Today we went to use our other battery (stock battery same as above) I had the car off and plugged in the battery, instantly started smoking and melted the end just like the other stock battery.

So before I get the new replacement for the 1st one...

Has anyone experienced this before and have information to enlighten me with? We haven't changed anything from stock.

Any help is appreciated.

I've never had or seen anything like that happen before. If I had to guess the esc is probably bad and doing something funky to the batteries. I would get into contact with Horizon Hobby asap and let them know that your car has killed 2 different batteries.
