Thanks, I saw the drilled/punche3d holes piece of sheetmetal fan protector on his site, but what about that screen? Screen looks like little bigger holes than standard metal window screen?

You can also mitigate some heat by lowering the motor timing to 15 from the stock setting of 22.5

I like to run without motor fans, when possible, mainly because they are prone to get jammed up with debris, and they fail. I've had good luck replacing stock w Hobbywing combos, running down one level in battery cell count, and turning up punch. Turning the timing down, on the stock stuff, also seems to help with heat, and little to no downside. When I sell, the HW combos get pulled for future use, and the stock stuff goes back in. I've only started up again, since last June, but have a Max6/1650kV combo that's going in it's 3rd 8s/6s truck.

Just curious, how much does that change the power delivery?

I can’t tell the difference. I can pull wheelies at will on 100% throttle with the right traction. It gives more torque at low end and lowers top speed. If your not doing speed runs in an open field or street, I doubt you’ll notice.
