After bashing the notorious 6s v5 I noticed the black lead for the cap pack disconnected. Truck runs fine. Do I need to replace the pack or solder it back on? How important is it?

Yeah you are not the first or last that this will happen to. A common thing.
You need to strip off some Heatshrink on the caps and resoldered the Black lead to the Cap pack.. It can be done.
Failing to secure the Lipo Mains leads well causes this to happen. Wires flap around and impacts causes this.
And more probably, Poor Spektrum QC has something to do with this. I would aslo double check the Red lead solder joint also. It is probably on its way out also.
A dead short can be catastrophic.
