Is there any danger in charging or continuing to use this? Maybe I'm being overly cautious, but not enough experience, so I just placed to side as I was going to storage charge.

How much of the wire is left? It’s hard to tell from the second picture.

I’d use this stuff over electrical tape.

Or better yet, pop out that pin from the connector and slide on some heat shrink.
 
All great advice above.
We all been through this kind of common damage here and there. The key is to make sure the Bal. lead is velcro strapped well in a safe place when running.
I would use a drop of solder and shrinktube wrap as stated above, releasing that Bal "pin out"from the connector first. What I normally do.

That can actually cause more unrepairable damage to the lipo. Even cause a dead short/fire. Velcro can snap or rip, lipo ejects and the the Bal lead in the keeper will also rip/ tear apart. Been there.
