Was it a test flight and it was destined to go down in a fireball?

When they cheered, and I was like WTF??? If worked on a project for a few years, it was destroyed and everyone cheer I might be a bit irritated by it. The reaction was odd not understanding the context.

Even If I designed something (that I wasn't paying for) and it did better than expected, even if it exploded, I would still cheer. I LIKE EXPLOSIONS
