Over the past few days, i've got your help upgrading my receiver + servo. This community is awesome.

I wanted to do a quick test run with the cover off so we dropped it in a middle school parking lot (huge) and let it rip.

I also discovered that on my dumbo radio i can turn the throttle up to 100% and it's like the RC turns into a new level of beast. It's like i finally got 100% of the car power instead of 75% of it on the stx2 poop radio.

But as i was in a large school parking lot, i was ripping, full turn.. i don't know if the servo voltage dropped, or I had poor visual judgement, but i ended up hitting the curb going maybe 10-15 mph. Never done that before!

I wasn't super fast, and i know i smashed it against trees and the ground much harder.

First assessment, well its not so bad the knuckle came out and the dog bog came out.. not so bad.. I tried to brute force pop it back in, but that wasn't happening.

So i come home and look close, and i try to take off the bumper... oooo poopity poop. There is no screw head..
I broke the head off of the screw into the suspension mount.. ooo, and suspension mount is bent.. Or and the hinge pins are bent... oooo and the shock is cracked.. ooo and this is a freaking expensive slow hit.

I'm not sure if i'll ever be able to put this all back together again.

but heres what i ordered so far today:
1) Hobbypark Aluminum Alloy RC Car Work Stand
2) ARRMA AR330381 Hinge Pin Lower 4x67.5mm (2)
3) 2x RPM 81482 Front Upper and Lower A-Arms, i didn't break them.. but with all this work, i might as well do it right.
4) ARRMA AR330378 Suspension Mount FF Aluminum Red
5) not needed but why not, Zeee 22.2V 100C 5200mAh 6S Lipo Battery with EC5 and XT90 Connector RC Battery for RC Car Truck Airplane Helicopter Quadcopter Boat (2 Pack) (40 bucks off black friday.)
6) drill bit set for power drill

Do you think i need to order the steering block and shock? Anyone else see anything else i should address?

The shock is cracked, but not completely broken. I figured i'd abuse it more before replacing it.

i did the math today, i am $1,175 total into my Kraton 6s v4 and i'm roughly around near stock only "upgrades" are servo and radio. (this is my first real RC, so i'm adding batteries and charger cost into that). So if anyone is debating between RTR or EXB... go EXB, it'll be cheaper in long run. Or just get a porn hub account, and you'll keep yourself entertained for years for cheaper.

regarding the broken screw, i don't have an extractor, so i was going to try to take the whole front off, and try to twist that broken mount off, then use pliers to twist off screw.

ps. slightly used kraton 6s v4 for sale.. some assembly required. j/k

The shock is not cracked the end is broken. 7 dollar part and ur good. You will break more trust me. That's not to bad of a list for a curb hit.

OMG! I had no idea i could replace that part!
Definitely replace that rod end ASAP

I checked through the stupid book and didn't see the exploded suspension parts! i am so grateful that you pointed that out.
i hate how they didn't just print a continuous section for the kraton, but i have to keep flipping!

I'm assuming you guys are talking about ar330338 -> ARRMA Shock Rod End Set Nero
Saved me $50 bucks!

Thank you guys!

Pull the suspension block over the broken screw, then just use a pair of vice grip pliers on it and twist it out. Wait until you break the wing mount screws - same concept.

i tried that, but it seems like the suspension block was threaded, so i don't want to create more damage.

That block is just on there. If it gets a little skewed it may be hard to pull off. Check out your diff case really close when you get it all torn apart too. I had a little faster hit into a curb with my typhon and i had to change the diff case as well. Good time to snag some aftermarket blocks while you have it apart.

FYI, ar330338 comes with 2 that AR330409 have. I bought both and compared them.
thanks olds97 for the great comparison! I ended up buying the AR330409 right away but are you suggesting (for future folks who encounter a smashed /broken suspension shock rod end) that the AR330338 comes with the beefier version as well as a smaller version?

@Stokez @calebgilmore man! you guys were right. Thanks for that insight. i was being afraid to do more damage, but with a little bit of wiggle it came right off. I appreciate the community insight.

Yeah, in case the other one isn't in stock or something. Both have 2 of the piece you want.

So far the exb rod ends didnt fail me yet after a few months of use a few one tire landing and hard crashes no thing bent. But The exb is made of more durable materials. Getting afront bumper can also help. Boiling the arms also a good thing. I had a massive differance in flexibility. Felt almost like rpm arms ish. Be sure to have your droop screws right. But if you boil the arms you will need to adjust the droop screws a few times after a few runs. I guess the arms are slightly bowing.
Edit: i lied i have a one bent shock shaft in the left rear after i one wheel landed on a massive jump. But shock still compress without binding lol

hey guys,
I got AR330409 as suggested. it doesn't seem threaded. is it self threading? just wanted to check before i broke a new part.

Thanks
