Do the Voltage and the Gorgon run the same chassis?
The chassis look similar but the battery box works very differently.

I bought three of the Voltage's for the $99 price. They aren't great vehicles but I thought they would be a good start for my five year old twins. One of the three I purchased is just to donate parts to the other two as needed.

Personally I would not buy the Voltage series cars, they are barely above toy grade. Cheaply made and not very durable.
That does not seem to be the case with the Gorgon's. So there is a lot of differences with the Gorgon and the Voltage?

Yeah the Gorgon is a much better design all the way around. The Voltage barely held up to the stock power and I've seen plenty of people running 3 and 4s on the Gorgon without issues.

They are pretty basic... I have already broke a front drive shaft.

Gorgon has a slipper clutch at least, but it is still a pile of plastic.

I bought one just because. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If I had known this I might have gone with a Gorgon. Especially since it has Gravedigger styling. But for 100 bucks, throw a 2s lipo in the voltage and let the grandson rip.
We have trashed one front axle (10bucks) and tore off the neg, then the pos leads to the motor. Ripped a chunk off the body at the right front body clip, and cracked the body along the top oof the rear window.
The grandson loves jumps, uses curbs for ramps, even had this thing running into the tree in the yard, up and over, continuous loops.
It's been well worth that investment. He has a car of his own at our house so he doesn't have to bring one. I am amazed it is still in one piece. One day I warned him that all that bashing into curbs for ramps would break his car. He said "Poppa sometimes rc cars are made to get broken".
I guess he paid attention to his dad and I at the local tracks.
