What’s best way to go?

I’ve got 10mm adapters with 17mm hex. Haven’t found too many tire options that are near stock dimensions with a 17mm hex.

I’d like to stay with a more stadium truck style set. Already have an MT10 so don’t want the Vorteks looking like a monster truck with mx28s.

1/8 scale buggy wheels? Any good 2.8s with 17mm hex? Any good 14mm sets?

What about the normal 2.8 Badlands? And I think Louise Rc makes some 2.8 St tires that are 17mm hex.

-edit- never mind Louise Rc does not.

Jetko makes some 2.8 ST tires with 17mm hex. I have never used these tires and have never really looked into them so I do not know how they perform.

Hey there Lemonteksunrise and welcome to the Arrma Forum!

One of the best way to widen your Vorteks is with Typhon 3s/Big Rock 3s suspension arms. If the arms still don't make the truck wide enough to your liking, you can use the suggestions that slick2500 mentioned.

Looks like badlands 2.8 are discontinued in 17mm. I’ve got some prolines I’m returning so want to stick with something from proline.

Was looking at these. I want something a little thinner than what’s stock. Was wondering how a 1/8 buggy tire would work/look.

Looks like I’ll be picking up a set of the Jetko. Thanks for the advice.

Hi there…and thanks for the welcome. Will I need wider CVD’s or stock vortex work fine?

Yeah they changed the wheels, you have to buy these https://www.prolineracing.com/produ...tires-mounted-12mm-blk-raid-2/PRO1012510.html then buy these https://www.prolineracing.com/product/1-10-6x30-to-17mm-hex-adapters/PRO633600.html

Do you have the stock axles or the upgrade cvds? The stock axles are the same on all of the Arrma 3s models. The upgrade cvds do not work well with the Typhon a arms however.

Stock cvd’s.

I was just looking at the aluminum hex adapters in 17mm. Looks like those would widen it but more as well? And then pair those with the badlands 2.8?

I think it would. Idk how much smaller the normal Badlands are than the MX28s.

I’ll be getting the a-arms as suggested to start.

Also see proline has the aluminum 14mm adapter. Would it be better to go with those and the badlands 2.8 and keep stock 14mm hex? I also have the hot racing +10mm 17mm hex adapter. Would adding the proline 17mm on top of that be overkill and be too much stress on parts?

I did the 17mm hot racing on mine. Haven had any stress issues at all with my stock cvds, but I’m running standard mx28, not belted, which are lighter. The big plus for me is that the 17mm nut on the outside is far superior to the stock 14mm setup. I also like the added width.

Thanks for the feedback. Will be going 17mm hot and belted 2.8 badlands.

Ran stock cvd with Typhon arms. So first time out within 5 minutes lower eyelet of hot racing shocks snapped. Piece of poop product. Wasn’t a high or bad landing. Cvd popped out and I’m sure that happened after the piece of poop shock broke.

Anyways…even before it popped out it seemed like the cvd’s were already stretched to the limit and could pop out easily. What’s the fox for getting those things deeper in?

The only thing that I know of is to run Granite arms.

Do you the differences in length of Typhon, granite, and Vorteks arms?
Granite/vorteks/senton arms are the same. Big rock/typhon arms are about 1/2” longer or so.

I started to do something like that a while back but then I realized, if I got v1, 4s arms, which fit just fine with the stock granite shock towers, coupled them with the v2, 4S hub carriers/C blocks and the V2, 4S driveshafts on a swb chassis with a typhon wing, 130a esc, 4068 motor, 6s shocks and backflip LPs… I would end up with something like this. A super durable and amazing jumper, one of my favorite cars. Thing, the 4s vorteks hybrid.
Just something to think about.
