What RC Car to buy ?
Age doesn’t really matter for this hobby.

What does your bashing area look like ?

Mojave or Kraton 6s are solid choices.

Also, Welcome to AF !

Welcome! ✌️
Thank you. We got everything here. Grass, Beaches, Woods, Sand.

Mojave looks fun :)
6s Mojave, Kraton, Typhon and Notorious are all great choices!

I’d say Mojave is the way to go, RTR or EXB.

RTR just needs a new servo after about ten runs for most.

IF you want to get into the bigger jumps and flips, but still want to retain good handling and high speed the Kraton 6s is the swiss army knife. It does it all.
In my humble opinion it is a excellent gateway drug to get you deep into this addiction.

If your flavor is more about driving around and a more realistic driving experience then the Mojave is a great option too.

I would back up a bit and answer a few questions before taking suggestions on what to buy.

1) What do you want to get out of the RC? Do you want to jump it, race it, just run it in a field, on road, off road, etc...

2) How comfortable are you wrenching, and/or do you have an interest in doing so. Anything you get is going to take some TLC and maintenance, but some are much easier to work on than others.

3) Budget wise, do you want to jump in head first, and spend $600-700+, or do you want to "test the waters" and make sure the hobby is really for you, and stick to the $300-400 range?

55 here too.
Its great fun and therapeutic!

Im at nearly $1100 in on a 6S Typhon and over $700 on a Typhon 3S. Tried the MEGA550 and sent it back. Its a toy.

Another $650 in batteries and power accessories. A couple of hundred in good tools and all sorts. And then TIRES! Lots of tires. Different types for different conditions. Be prepared for it and as others have said Wrenching is 2nd to running and sometimes its First LOL

i choose the Typhons because of the heightened flexibility as a RC Car. It can be a speed car, buggy or Truck. Depends how you set it up.
Although its full of compromises for such.

Bashing isnt my No1 thing. I like ripping on pavement and grass. Running corses i made and speed runs are fun.

So yes, you spend thousands and the first thing you do its try to break it! Thats the fun!
I will Never own a shelf Queen! What's the point?

Im looking at a crawler next and a BIG Truck, maybe a 8S Kraton.
When I find an appropriate place to speed run (it can be dangerous to everything around you) I'll do a dedicated car like a Limitless.

Sounds like to me you want a Buggy!

48 yo here. I have a 6s Kraton and Outcast, 3s Granite, and a several non-arrma RC's...

6s line are beastly trucks for sure. But they can be a lot of truck if you don't have bigger areas convenient to run them in. Kraton, Mojave are both great, but both will run 40+mph in grass easy, and a +40mph 12lb truck makes a medium size park into a small park in a hurry, and makes kids / spectators / bystanders into potential lawsuits.

If you don't have bigger areas close to home, them look at the Granite/BigRock. the 3s trucks are still very tough, very fast, but are more suited to smaller areas and yard bashing. My Granite is my go-to RC because it is fun to run in more areas than my Kraton and Outcast. If I am going to a soccer park or dry retention pond to bash, I will grab the 6s trucks as the extra size and speed let them just ignore the semi-mowed grass that would stall out the Granite.

Welcome to the hobby, you might try one and like 6 different ones 😂 I love them all
If your at all proficient with tools and wrenching, the 6s exb line is awesome but the RtR ones are a great start especially the 6s ready to run (rtr) rigs I love me kraton 6s exb and my typhon’s in dirt and on pavement

Without knowing anymore, if all you want to do is test the waters and see if you like it and see if it's something that you want to continue in,

Senton BLX 3S

Decent starter vehicle

If you decide that it's right up your alley and you love it...then I went with Mojave next.....
Or Kraton 6S

Or, if the Senton just doesn't seem to be a big enough thrill, jump to 6S to start ....

But as mentioned......the 6S needs some room to really enjoy it......

If you can answer some of the posted questions above, we can better help with your decision.....

Welcome aboard!

Only $290 for a BLX senton on scratch and dent on tower, I find 3s lineup can be very frustrating but fun too.

That's the $1Million dollar question..

It really depends on what you want to get out of it and how familiar you are with the latest Brushless & Lipo battery technology..
Are you into off-road or on-road bashing?

IF you are completely new to the hobby, & want to keep the initial costs down and still be able to put in a solid bashing session, then consider the Arrma Big Rock 3S BLX (truck) or Typhon 3S (buggy).

If you have a thicker wallet and want to join the big boys, then (like others have mentioned) look at either a Kraton 6S or Mojave 6S..
They both will be a hoot to drive and can handle just about anything you throw at them.

However, keep this in mind. For running on "loose" surfaces.. the Mojave's body will tend to "Gather/Vacuum-up" a ton of debris into the chassis... Making after-bash-cleanup a bit of a chore.. Just a friendly heads up.

Whatever you decide, the end result will more than like be the same.. You're going to have a Hella FUN time getting outdoors with the rig(s) and blasting the turd out of the "Grass, Beaches, Woods, Sand." that you've got over there.

I am 66 own 6s Typhon, 6S Talion, 3S Granite (grandsons car) and a 3S Bigrock. All have different applications. If you have the space then go 6S. All have been durable and fun to bash/race. Agree with 3s as being frustrating at times.

Have a little bit of everything but almost 2 years and the k6 has been a thanks really if I sell my cars I keep kraton 6s

I'm 72, and I run a heavily upgraded Kraton 6s. A was stated earlier, the Kraton is the Swiss Army Knife of the Arrma 6s vehicles.
+1.
Get a 1/8 Kraton 6s rig. RTR or EXB Roller. Great choice for your very first Arrma rig. Great all around rig.
I personally would skip the 4x4 line.
