To the guys using old towels (which I used at first,) I found a free improvement. At least in my opinion.
If you have a Harbor Freight in your area, use the free coupon for a 40x50" moving blanket. As of last night, I now have two of them. Screws don't roll, it's somewhat comfortable on elbows, good coverage but does burn pretty quick if your soldering iron hits it.
I also use the free coupon for the Microfiber Cleaning Cloths instead of paper towels.
Remember, at HF you can use as many coupons as items you plan to buy. I always go in with the 20% off a single item and a free coupon at least. There are apps you can use on your phone that will allow you to download the coupons and the cashier can scan right from your device.
