Another piece to the puzzle. He got them from M2C yesterday and had them shipped out today. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the bullets soldered on the TP 4070 and then I just need to reinforce the body and it’s ready to rip!

Well other than needing the chassis braces and @Moirae to tell me what settings to enter on the B-link to go with this TP4070, I think it’s done.

The body is out in the garage letting the Lexel dry, so no pictures of that. I’ve got some m2c droop screws I will probably install at some point and I’d like to stick some snap rings under the servo saver but that will give me something to do later on.

Man all your builds are so pretty lol. Just turn the timing to 0, tbh you don't even have to but it will run cooler if you do. I actually just ripped around in my mojave today with this motor and I couldn't believe the temps. I was ripping on 8s around the parking lot and temps were amazing with 1x 12v fan on 3s lipo and 1x 12v fan connected to rx. 70f ambient and I ripped whole pack :ROFLMAO:

You're going to love that thing.

Thanks for the compliments, brother. I like building them as much as I like wrecking them. I remember you telling me to turn the timing to zero. I can never remember which way the punch works with Castle, isn’t closer to 0% more? I haven’t really thought of having to run fans on it yet.

I forgot to mention, shout out to you and @Hammer Down for the bullet soldering trick. Heating the bullets up with a torch just worked mint.

Castle calls it “punch control” so 100% is no punch and 0% is full potato.

Yea lower is more. Personally I like it around 30-40% 😎 👍

The one time I never ran fans my rig didn't turn on again 🤣 🤣

Well now I definitely have to quit asking you for gearing advice.

Body reinforced. Man that is the worst but if it makes a body last twice as long I guess it’s worth it.

I also got the body clips on (Bittydesign angled ones) and put one last decal on the grille bar.

Bashing series Azure battery showed up, no pics. M2C chassis braces got here from Bateman’s.

Got them all installed along with some of the front mud guards I had laying around. I raised the two rear body mounts up a hole to get the body to sit level on the chassis. Not sure how I missed that before.

Another pic of the Bittydesign angled body clips. Man I hope these are easier on my precious little fingers.

And it’s done and ready for it’s maiden voyage. I’m guessing I will have to redo my motor wires and add some fans, but we’ll see. I’m going to try out these Kaiju EXT? tires for a bit and see how they do. They definitely have more offset than the backflips and will hopefully hold up. I’ve got a set of the OG Kaiju tires to try also and they look really gnarly on it, but I want to give these a shot first. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I mistakenly ordered a set of M2C sure lock 17mm nuts, so they got coated black and made their way onto this build.

Turned out really nice! (y)

Added a roof skid from a Traxxas Maxx. This one is off a used v1 Maxx body I have so it is temporary.

It appears a touch crooked, but I’ll fix it tomorrow when the replacement shows up.

Had a break in the rain and a short window to get the first run in. It seems like it really hugs the ground BUT the Kaiju EXT tires are pretty much trash in grass, which is where I mostly run and could explain why it hugged the ground so much. Seemed the rear end wanted to pass the front most of the time. So off they go and hopefully tomorrow I can try it with the OG Kaiju tires.

They look pretty mean on it, so hopefully they will hold up to the power, but I’ll still probably try the Backflips at some point.

Got another short run out of it tonight, this time running the OG Kaiju tires. Hooks and goes much better in grass, still seems pretty planted but it will roll over if you push it. It really doesn’t wheelie unless you’re trying to make it, which is nice. Run was cut short because of the pinion coming loose, redid that and hopefully I can run it again tomorrow.

New roof skid installed. I cut/sanded off the part that says Traxxas. Not quite perfect, but I don’t think anyone will ever really notice. I’d like to get it out this weekend with the Backflips to give them a try. All of my runs have been pretty short so far, but I think I’m going to need to either gear down, add fans or both.

Well I tore the front end down to install some snap rings under the servo saver spring and to my surprise there already was some. I still chucked two on, so I guess we’ll see how it does.

I ordered some fluids and shims to rebuild all three diffs 60 front/200-500 mix center/30 rear but with all the shipping issues at horizon/tower I don’t know how soon I’ll get to do that.

While I was messing around with my LMT build the other night, I set the Lmt body on the chassis and I’m not mad at it. I think once it’s lowered down it would be a pretty cool look. I’ve always wondered how a monster truck body would fit/look on a Kraton or Kraton XL and I guess now I know.

That Bigfoot body looks pretty wicked IMO!

Yeah I think proportion wise it actually fits on there pretty decent. Width is perfect. I will probably have to do up another one for my Fireteam as an alternate body.

All the needed fluids and shims showed up from Horizon/Tower so I got to work on the diffs. I’m definitely not an expert at building diffs, but I’ll show you what I used and where.

A pack of these little bad boys is basically enough to do two diffs.

The order of installation
74B5D2D8-C029-43AE-BA87-1E668EF0BBE9.jpeg

Basically one of the bigger supplied shims behind the planetary, and then two behind the satellite gear on one side, and one on the other. I cannot take credit for this set up, I saw an old video from Rich Duperbash where he was setting his up this way so I figured I’d give it a go.

These little peanuts were used to shim the crown gear over once the diff was reinstalled into the bulkhead. The front diff required three, the rear I haven’t gotten to reinstall yet.

Upon disassemble I found one of the driveshaft pins on the driver’s side rear sheared off. Not really sure when this happened, no damage to the cup, but this rig probably only has 3- battery packs through it. Luckily I have spares.
