4092 motor wires too short. How did you extend them?

came here to post this! 🤣 throw some heat shrink on the bullet connections and they will never come loose unless you want them too
Yeah, those guys are the best. If you’re a lazy solderist they’re the go-to. They’ve had a bit of my business!

I would highly recommend to Move the ESC closer to motor instead , and to extend the control wire from ESC to Rx.
Much simpler.
Exactly what I did, out the box way to short.

Great photo! Thank you for sharing. I don't really like how close the pinion is to the wires, but I guess as long as it doesn't touch there won't be a problem.
I see that you also have what looks like rubber O rings around the back of the motor. Probably for extra support on hard landings. I like that.

What ESC do you have?? I run my 4092's with a Max 6, on a Basherqueen plate. The wires reach the ESC without any issues.

On this specific motor/wire combo you can simply extend the wires, de solder bullet and insert an extension.
They are simple copper wires, stay away from the backend where they exit the motor if you dare to cut them.
I'd still just built extensions for the ESC itself, though., get you out of having big fat spots where you would have to solder the extension.

Got a rocket 4092 in my Fireteam together with a Hobbywing Max6 ESC. Wires are short, but got it working this way without extending cables or anything. Moved the ESC a bit. Other thing is that the motor-cooler, which was originally on top, had to move to the side, because it was in the way of the cables. And the alu-ribs from that fan hit the center driveshaft, so had to cut a but off of that.
Because the cables are pretty tight like this, they're not going to touch the motor-pinion. Drove it for many times like this without any problems.
Man, this thing is moving!

How mine was done too. I didn't really like placing the esc as close to the pinion as it was but, never had any issues. I've since moved my max6 to the Xmaxx, VXL8S is now hooked to the 4092 in a Kraton XL.. that VXL8S isn't really impressing me on 6s either though. No surprise..
Kraton XL now..
