I wanted to take the big rock out today since it is freaking HOT 
and see how the rocket fan and powerhobbies mount would do. On the stock fan/heat sink on an 88 degree day I was seeing temps like 170+ on the motor. Stock gearing.
Today the temp is 100 with an index of 115. I took the temp before the run (99). Ran for 5 min with of mix of pretty tall grass and doing full power pulls out in the road. Ran for 5 minutes on a timer and checked temps. 156 on the motor, 143 on the esc. I let it sit for 2 minutes and the temp dropped to 131 on the motor. I ran another 5 minutes doing flat out speed run after speed run and the motor got to 163.5....
I'm pretty impressed with the temp considering the outside temp and me running it pinned for the length of the run..
I'd have to say I recommend the surpass hobby rocket fan (30x30) and simple mount vs the stock heat sink. Running cooler in way hotter temps outside.
