Vorteks Broken shocks need advice

Hey looking for advice on shocks. Fairly new to rc. Took my 6 year old to a skate park with our cars. I have a Vorteks 3s and he has a granite 3s. I absolutely destroyed 3 shocks. Shattered at the connection to shock tower. His granite was fine but running 2s batteries. How do I prevent this from happening again? Should I have preloaded with spacers to stiffen the suspension?

How high you going? I haven't broke a shock yet. But I don't jump over 7 feet. Mostly 3 to 5.

Been doing it for 3 months at least with a boost. Same shocks as yours I think.

Yeah I think I went overboard with excitement and went way to high.
