Charging rate for stock Mega battery?

Hi all, I picked up a ProTek Prodigy 610EZ as an upgrade to the charger that came with my son's Typhon Mega. My question is what charging rate should I use for the battery that came with the car? Would 1 amp be ok, or would more be ok? For reference, it is a 3300mah 8.4v 7 cell NIMH
