This isn’t that far from true. Pipefitter friend of mine had a beautiful set of pipe wrenches in steel, then ridgid came out with the same set in aluminum.These are large wrenches, largest has over 4 foot of handle. By submitting the order to the employer using the metric jaw dimensions (flip the tool over for the U.S. standard dimensions) he was able to justify having his employer buy him these new “metric” adjustable pipe wrenches!
Most adjustable wrenches and pipe wrenches have the metric jaw span on one side and U.S. standard on the other, lol
