Well, let me have it. Be honest.

I’m using a Weller WLC100, has worked great for swapping out battery connectors.

I’ve always thought I was doing sub par soldering joints and while swapping connectors on my new gens-ace lipo, I thought why not ask? Let’s see how I’m truly doing. 😬

I’ve seen a lot of people recommend 63/37 solder, but I’ve had no issues using this.

Great tip about the alligator clips.

Is there anything I can do different to produce better results?

That number is the tin/lead ratio. The only thing that is important is that it has a good % of lead.
Leads melting temp is lower, it flows a lot better.
I use the same 60/40 and love it. If you'd go to the lead free solder like what they sell at Walmart you'll notice it takes way more heat and it won't flow into your wire anywhere near as well.. makes soldering good really difficult.

Your doin great, no worries!
