On the next one install the "optional" cap pack. And in that thread where he says get the wires as low as you can on the esc literally go as low as you can.

Directions said that it wasn't necessary so I didn't but was going to anyway guess I should have. Think that caused the problem

Eh I would rather have that extra insurance.

Yup. Less wire length means less resistance. A shame the max8 needs a cappack when running bigger motors like a 4083 and 4092 but it's probably due to an internal capacitor design flaw not sorting out all the ripple voltage.

At least it's a free fix.

Thank you fellas , I will definitely be using the cappack on the next ones. I installed some lights on my notorious with the old esc and motor. But I'm digging the lights

don't waste the talion on a speed truck... its too much fun to jump...

Fact! It'll sail in the air and jumps with grace. I have terrain crushers from Sweep Racing and jump with em but I land in soft grass.
Also won't get air control like you will with Proline or even stock tires. I don't try flips with the SRC wheel and tire combo.

I haven't really run my Max6 much, but after having two 6 week old Max10-SCT ESC go bad on me I am a bit nervous. And seeing this guy's Max8 go up in flames doesn't inspire confidence.

That's it lol it's badass too. I bought it for my son's Kraton lol. So I put the wheelie bar from my notorious on the kraton and notorious got the gpm considering I'm on the wheelie bar a lot. It was 40 bucks on Ebay
