I am wanting to upgrade my big rock V3 hubs. Any suggestions on whether to use 12 mm or 17 mm and does anyone know if Amazon has a conversion kit? I have a gift card I want to use up.

I suggest you try 17mm: there are a lot of wheels available in 17mm.

As far as conversion kits go, I'm unfamiliar with what is available for Arrma 3s vehicles. The Typhon 3s comes with 17mm hexes, so you might be able to use driveshaft parts from the Typhon for a conversion. Others here may have more details.

Hello and Welcome!

I think all the comments are fair. I am throwing out another suggestion. If you ever consider going to the popular Proline Badland MX 2.8", they come with a changeable center hex system. So you can go with the same MX 2.8 tire for a 12mm, 14mm, or 17mm fit. Tires are great for bashing.

14mm stock HEX has never given me any issues, so between 12mm and 14mm, I see no real advantage. No, not many 14mm hex tires are made compared to 12mm and 17mm.

I wanted a wider stance on my Big Rock. The easiest system I found that fits over the stock is made by M2C Racing. I added the hex extenders for 17mm HEX and changed the same tires above the center hex out from 14mm to 17mm.

Thank you for the feedback.
I’d go 12mm. Most 17mm wheels you find are either made for 1/8 buggies or 1/8 monster trucks. Neither works very well on the big rock.

But there are a ton 12mm monster truck wheels on the market.

Plus the conversion is easier. This is all you need:

Thank you for the advice.
