Every time I see a pic of a 3s Typhon, I kind of have the same thought... There is just something that looks a bit clunky with it compared to my 6s Typhon. Maybe is it the wing, maybe it is the front shocks, body even looks just a bit off, something. Just can't quite put my finger on it....

My v1, back when the paint was new -

Man, that's a beautiful color. What paint did you use?

Thanks!
Spaxstix color change paint, Green/purple/teal. Trim is Spazstix Ultimate Chrome. Indoors, like that pic, it is a deep metallic green. Outdoors, in the sunlight, it will flash thru the different colors, it is pretty cool. :)

For painting with the color change paint, it goes on like a light fog. Go with a bunch of light layers (it never goes opaque, but you back with black, ant then it looks cool...

My paint thread - it meanders a bit at first, cuz I didn't know what I wanted to do.

Awesome! Thanks a lot for the info! (y) I've messed with the Tamiya color shift paint, but neither of those POP like yours does.

Sorry I meant the 2018 6s. O have seen it on YouTube but maybe is sold outside of us?

You should add your location to your user profile, ...are you UK based like me then?

The Typhon 6S BLX (V3 2018 version) comes only in blue colour here in the UK.

The red colour Typhon here in the UK is the Typhon 3S BLX version: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/arrma-1-8-typhon-3s-blx-4x4-brushless-buggy-rtr/rc-car-products/437190

I believe in the USA etc the Typhon was available in red as a 6S model originally but believe that maybe an older model now. I have seen you can get the red coloured body shell if you wanted it though: https://www.modelsport.co.uk/arrma-typhon-painted-trimmed-body-shell-red/rc-car-products/394953

Personally though I wouldn't bother as for the same price you can get a clear body shell to paint yourself. That's what I'm going to do eventually so that I can have my Typhon in a colour of my choosing. ;)

Hope that helps.

Hey guys, I own a 6S. Love it! Although it's a Basher, sometimes the guys want to put their 1/8 on a dirt track. Now when we are bashing about in an open field, the Typhon 6s just blitzs the hell out of everybody else out there. My friends like those SCT trucks. However, when we get on a track, I literally have to cut the throttle to 75% and throttle sensitivity. It's at that point I feel like I'm driving a bus.

The 3S is an economy plastic package, but it weighs in a 2.86kg ( I think ), would it perform better on the track? I wonder. I think Arrma could retain it's basher image while still making a RTR Buggy at 1/10 that is a little more nimble.

I think the 3s is better than the 6s but only on a high grip tracks, the feel of that low weight is great.

but as soon as the traction is low then you feel the loss of the center diff, where the 6s is much easier to drive. the 3s keeps spinning coming out of turns.

Depend of the track. From our experiences since 2018 on this track, with big camel jumps, trapeze and high jumps the 6s will win. The 6s is heavier and more stable on landing. The 3s lightweight body is always bouncing on landing (and makes wheelie...). Just because of that, on a 12 laps race, it makes a huge difference.
But on the airpins, u turns and flat straight away my son is very fast with is 3s. So, I have to check my ass on the dirt part of the track. :)
When we swap the RC, my son is uncatchable with the 6s...
